The freedom or social structure of Renaissance nobles varied widely depending on where they resided. Nobles in urban areas, while still far above other classes, had strict rules of etiquette, dress and behavior that greatly dictated how they needed to behave. A noble who resided on his country estate, however, had the freedom and means to live a very free and enjoyable lifestyle. filled with noble pursuits such as hawking, games and visiting friends.
