Why are pet eagles eye covered?

Eagles have very sharp eyes especially suited to see long distance objects naturally they will be staying in place where they have large and long distance open space.For a pet eagle this is not possible, and it will be surrounded and its vision blocked.This might reduce its sharpness.

This may be a totally wrong answer ..in fact I am myself looking for it.However this is what is coming to my mind
