Where is most of the freshwater on the Earth stored?

Most of the freshwater on Earth is stored in glaciers and ice caps, accounting for around 68%. The remaining freshwater is found in groundwater (30%), surface water such as lakes and rivers (0.3%), and in the atmosphere (0.03%).
