What is the cost to re float ceiling after popcorn ceiling removal?

I would charge at least 2.00 per sq ft if I personally was going to do it. but if I were going to pay someone else I would pay 1.00 to 1.50 max per sq ft. most of the time involved is in the protection and cleanup as the actual work is pretty simple.
