Why does the Capricorn goat have a fishes tail?

The symbolism for Capricorn was taken from the Sumerian primordial god Enki (later known as Ea), which had the same visage; half goat, half fish. This god was associated with creation, wisdom, mischief and subterranean waters. The goat symbolizes ambitions, tenacity, and the ability to survive in the most inhospitable of circumstances. The fish represents the insight, and deep wisdom.
