Were did the hip hop trend for oversized t-shirts come from?

when a household could not afford shirts for everyone in the house kids usually had to share shirts so alot of kids ended up wearin oversized clothes that is how the whole baggy hip hop clothing started

I have also heard that the trend of wearing of large oversized clothing originates from Los Angeles County Jail, inmates were apperently given oversized clothing and the trend flowed from jail to the street.
