Friday the 13th as an 'unlucky' day originated, most believe, from the fact that Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday, and there were 13 people present at the Last Supper (himself and 12 disciples) on the Thursday night when he was betrayed.
However, to regard the day of Friday 13th as 'unlucky' is based on superstition and has no place in Christian belief. Christians believe in a God who rules overall. Luck does not come into it. Therefore a superstitious belief in Friday 13th as being unlucky is totally incompatoble with Christian belief and doctrine; Christians do not rely on luck but on a loving God who is alongside them in the good times and the bad.
