What were Francisco Franco's ambitions?

Franco wanted to be the sole decision maker and ruler of Spain. He believed Spain had been destroyed by Parliamentary democracy and political parties. He wanted to guard Spain against further disunity and keep it safe until outside divisive forces no longer represented a threat.
