What is the literalist theory?

Basically, there are two types of Christian believers; called literalists and non-literalists. The literalists believe what the bible says is the exact and is exactly how the world was created. They believe earth was created in a 24 hour period of 6 days. And God then rested on the 7th day. They believe that the world was created: # Light, with Day and Night spoken into being # Sky spoken into being # Land, Sea, and Plants spoken into being # Sun, Moon, and Stars spoken into being # Animals of the sea and air spoken into being # Animals of the land, and Man in the image of God spoken into being # Rest taken by God at the end of a very creative week Ok, so that is that. Now the non-literalist take what the bible says as a poetic meaning and combine science and religion. Saying that God made the world, and science shows how.
