What is the south known for?

Racism, homophobia, high concentration of Christian population, Christian extremism breeding grounds, high concentration of Republican voters, high obesity rate, relatively high population of less educated people.

On a positive note, the South has been known to be friendly and hospitable (however, considering my previous statements, this may not be true, in certain cases, if you are not white and heterosexual), the temperature is nice and warm, a large amount of America's food is grown there, known for its whiskey, known for African-American musical forms, which have developed into many other forms which are popular today.
