Felix Baumgartner's jump from the stratosphere during the Red Bull Stratos project took approximately 4 minutes and 20 seconds from the moment he left the capsule to when he landed on Earth. He free-fell for about 4 minutes before deploying his parachute at around 5,000 feet. His jump, which took place on October 14, 2012, reached a maximum altitude of about 128,000 feet.
