Engagement Ring
This is the ring you give when you propose. It usually has a center stone (often a diamond) and is meant to be a big moment piece — think sparkle, surprise, and “will you marry me?”
Wedding Ring (or Wedding Band)
This one comes later — you exchange it during the wedding ceremony. It’s typically simpler (like a plain gold or diamond band) and meant to be worn every day, alongside the engagement ring.
So… What’s the Difference?
Timing: Engagement ring = before the wedding. Wedding ring = during the wedding.
Design: Engagement rings are usually flashier. Wedding bands are more low-key.
Tradition: Most people wear both rings together after they’re married — engagement ring on top, wedding band closer to the heart.
