What was John Tyler's failure while he was president?

You might say he failed as a party animal. He vetoed two bills that would have re-established the kind of national bank that Jackson killed but which the Whigs had fought hard to keep and had promised to restore once they got into power.

Most of his Whig cabinet resigned in protest and the Whig party kicked him out ending any hope he might have had to run for president.
