It's very hard to get emancipated at 16. You have to prove that you're independent and can live on your own without your parents. At 16, most people are still in High School and can't even get a full time job. Also, at 16 you don't qualify for most jobs because of you being a minor. You can't handle box cutters, you can't slice meat a deli.. It's just very minimal. Also, you have to have your own means of transportation to get to and from work. Which means a car, insurance (NOT your parents insurance either), and a drivers license. You must have your own place. You can't live with grandma and expect to me emancipated from your parents, it just won't happen. I would suggest just sticking it out until you're 18. Why be in such a rush to grow up anyway? Living in the real world as an adult with no help isn't fun at all. Enjoy your childhood.
