If someone is gay and accepts himself and is accepted by the society he lives in, then he may be happier than str8 men just because he has less of commitments, he is able to build a good and stable friendships with girls (which is not quite usual for str8s) as well the average earnings are higher for a homosexual man than a str8 one (at least in Europe).
