Was the red river rebellion successful?

The Red River Rebellion, which took place in 1869-1870, was partially successful in achieving its immediate goals. The Métis, led by Louis Riel, managed to negotiate the terms of the Manitoba Act, which created the province of Manitoba and recognized some of their rights. However, the rebellion ultimately failed to secure lasting political power or autonomy for the Métis, as many of their aspirations were not fully realized in the long term.
