What is the oil capacity of a 1996 Mitsubishi galant 2L?

i do not have a listing for a '96 2.0 L. the '96 1.8 L is 4.0 qts. w/filter and the '93 2.0 L is 4.1 qts.

i have always used the "rule of thumb" with all my engines (426 hemi, 340 Dodge, 327 Chevy, 454 Chevy, 283 Chevy, 4.3 Chevy and 2.4 galant) drain oil, remove filter, install filter.

put in 4 qts. oil, check oil level via dipstick. if it shows about 1 qt. low, add 1 qt. oil, start engine, run about one minute to circulate oil. stop engine, wait 2-3 minutes for oil return.

check dipstick and add oil to the full mark.

if it were me, i would drain oil, remove filter. replace filter, add 4 qts. oil and check oil level. it won't be too full as to cause any harm.
