What are the subject verb agreement rules with examples?

Has is used with singular subjects; have is used with plural subjects.

He has five dollars in his pocket. (Singular)

They have twenty dollars in total. (Plural)

Note that I, we, and you take the plural form.

I have five dollars.

You have five dollars.

Together, we have ten dollars.
