Where is thermostat on volkswagan jetta?

The water temperature sensor is the right hand side and back of the engine, just behind the gearbox. this will be responsible for your engine not running right

The radiator thermostat which turns the fans on is probably on the right hand side (as you look into the engine bay with the bonnet/hood up), just on the radiator.

Look for wires!!!
