How sugarcane juice is preserved?

TamilNadu University has the know-how for preserving sugarcane juice. It can be preserved for a maximum period of 6 months by adding Sodium Benzoate at 125 ppm. You can find more information at http://www.tnau.ac.in/tech/implements/proc7-1.htm
