Some historical facts:
- Born in Dublin, Ireland in July 8, 1729.
- Married William Darragh in 1753.

- On December 2nd, 1777, British officers asked her to move out of her house, but she refused.
- British decided she was no harm, so they went into their " Planning room " to plan a sneak attack in 2 days!!
- Lydia ease-dropped the plan outside the door and kept mental notes on what they were planning on doing.......

- On December 4th, Washington's army would be attacked by General Howe's army.
- No other colonist/patriot knew about this, not even our troops.
- Lydia wrote down the details on a piece of paper and stuffed it into a needlebook and handed it to one of George Washington's soldiers (maybe a general, but exactly sure who, but he then took the note to General Washington himself)
- Lydia died in 1789, 6 years after the passing of her husband
- Lydia's brave move of listening and passing on the plan greatly helped win the war.
