Some historical facts:

- Born in Dublin, Ireland in July 8, 1729.

- Married William Darragh in 1753.

- Immigrated to Philidelphia, Pennsylvania.

- On December 2nd, 1777, British officers asked her to move out of her house, but she refused.

- British decided she was no harm, so they went into their " Planning room " to plan a sneak attack in 2 days!!

- Lydia ease-dropped the plan outside the door and kept mental notes on what they were planning on doing.......

- 13 pieces of cannon

- 5,000 soldiers

- 11 boats on wheels

- Baggage wagons

- On December 4th, Washington's army would be attacked by General Howe's army.

- No other colonist/patriot knew about this, not even our troops.

- Lydia wrote down the details on a piece of paper and stuffed it into a needlebook and handed it to one of George Washington's soldiers (maybe a general, but exactly sure who, but he then took the note to General Washington himself)

- Lydia died in 1789, 6 years after the passing of her husband

- Lydia's brave move of listening and passing on the plan greatly helped win the war.
