What if your pet snail doesn't come out?

If it doesnt come out for hours(or days even) dont throw it away or anything. It may still be alive. If there is a white thing covering the shell opening where the snail comes out, the snail is alive. It is just sealing itself from the world. I do not encourage you to rip it open though(I did once many years ago when I was young. I ripped it open with a small screw driver. When I was ready to toss it out side, it came out-very well alive.) you may hurt the snail if you poke its slime or something. It will come out on its own. Its natural. If there is no white thing, see if you see anything it the shell. If its very hollow, the snail could have died. To find out, heres what to do:

Wet the snail with water(or use a squirt bottle so it feels like rain). This will make the snail think it rained. It may take a while for the snail to come out. Sometimes they get stuck coming out, or if it is sick. Put it on a hot/warm washcloth to loosen it up. If it is dead, bury it.(Thats what I did to the last two snails that died. I buried them. I put each in a small box and buried the box.)
