What are the effects of fashion?

Fashion can be a very powerful thing. People use clothing to express there feelings, and what they like.

Another effect of fashion is trends. Trends can come from almost anywhere. Some start with a designer having a new idea, (or bringing back an old one) and some start with a few people on the streets. Trends can be so unpredictable, that some larger company's hire people to predict what trends there might be in up to a year in advance!
