How much fuel does it take to get to mars?

It depends on how fast you want to get there, and exactly what path you take. For reference, the Mars Science Laboratory used roughly one hundred kilograms of fuel per kilogram of payload to make the trip, and it will take a little over 8 months for it to get there.
