Is area code 1 888 toll-free?

In North America (USA, Canada, etc.), area code 888 is used for toll-free calls. The person on the other end of the line could be physically located anywhere in the world, but the call is free from anywhere in North America, provided the owner of the number chooses to accept calls from your location. (Airtime charges may still apply for calls from mobile phones.)
