What did Charles Lindbergh do after he became famous?

He investigated the German air force just before WWII, and said they were very advanced and capable (we should have paid more attention to this).

His baby son was kidnapped and killed, in New Jersey. A German immigrant carpenter was convicted of the crime and later executed.

But he was an isolationist during the 1940s-- he took the position that America should stay out of WWII in Europe and that the NAZI German takeover of Europe was not such a big deal that we should fight against Hilter over it.

He lived in semi-retirement a long time. I think he died in 1974 or so. His wife Anne, a pretty accomplished writer and author, lived much longer and died fairly recently (in the last 10 years? 15 maybe?)
