How is fluid treated after inguinal hernia repair?

I am 4 weeks out (at this point) from Umbilical Hernia repair. 2 mesh screens. 1 Polypropylene and 1 Gore Tex. I have a ball of fluid which the Doctor told me would gradually dissolve over a period of 2 - 3 months. He acted as if this was a pretty standard time frame so I would think it would be for you, even though yours is a groin repair.
