Why are referrees' so slow at counting to 3?

Professional Wrestling is scripted and the referees know when and how the match will end. So, if you noticed carefully, the match ending 3 count is usually much faster than the other near falls during the course of the match. The referee counts slow to allow the wrestler who got beat up a little extra time to recover. When they know that one wrestler has his finishing move and the match will end, they will hit the count faster.
