Is seed a living thing

A seed is a begining of the life cycle of a flowering plant.It contains the tiny beginnings of a pleant and food store,all surrounded in atough outer coat.Seeds can stay dormant or inactive for years before germinating.That is why,it seems as if seeds are not living things.But this ability helps them to survive cold or drought.

Most Living things need food or minerals,water,sunlight and oxygen to survive to grow.In the same way,when conditions are favourable,the seed becomes 'alive' and starts to germinate.Therefore,seeds are living things.
