When did Thomas Edison sell his light bulb?

He didn't. Edison improved the light bulb, but was not the one who first designed it. Scottish inventor James Bowman Lindsay is generally viewed as the inventor of the bulb sometime in the 1830s.

Edison's patent for the "Improvement In Electric Lights" was filed on 14 October 1878, many years after the first rudimentary light bulbs were made.
