What time was Jesus born according to the Holy Bible?

The Bible does not specify the time of day when Jesus was born. The Gospel of Luke does mention angels announcing the birth to shepherds in the middle of the night, which is why tradition places the birth in the early morning hours before sunrise. The date of his birth is not identified in Scripture, either, but was chosen by the Church several centuries later.
