Why is tantalum used in a moblile phone?

I looked it up but they say "tantalum from Congo is used to make electrical capacitors that go into phones, computers and gaming devices" in my article I'm reading but I still don't understand but from what I'm thinking maybe it helps with the memory? but i will continue to read this article and i would get back to you on that.
