AS the Mother and the baby SHARE the SAME blood stream, everything that the MOTHER eats, drinks, or smokes goes right to the BABY. Stop drinking alcohol right now. The same goes for SMOKING, of any product, tobacco or otherwise. If you don't the child will be stunted and small at birth and WILL HAVE BRAIN DAMAGE for the rest of it's life. This is called fetal damage and will last for ever for that child. Think about the child, not yourself.

National Institute of Health, http://www.health.nih.gov "Pregnancy and Substance Abuse" I know that it will harm the baby. I didn't know I was pregnant. I have not done those things since I found out I was pregnant. I was asking because at my dating scan the baby was 6 weeks but now he is measuring 4 weeks ahead by ultrasound and I was just wondering if maybe he was small in the beginning because of what I was doing and now maybe he is just catching up. ALSO- The WORST thing for a fetus is alcohol. Not that cigs or pot are good, but ALCOHOL is by far the worst DOCUMENTED substance to ingest while pregnant. Your child can be born with F.A.S. (fetal alcohol syndrome) or F.A.E. (fetal alcohol effect), both causing lifelong problems: learning disability, impulse control problem, physical problems; smaller than normal head, "webbed" eyes (similar to downs syndrome), lack of a divit under the nose, behavioral problems.........If you can't quit EVERYTHING (which you should do) get rid of ALCOHOL immediately!!!PLEASE!! I work with F.A.S. kids and it isn't pretty.
