Where are some good fishing spots near kilmore Victoria?

There used to be several redfin caught by myself and other locals around the Hudson park part of the Kilmore creek but even with the drought well and truly broken and the water levels risen, it's been a nightmare to negotiate all the weed.It's inundated the entire circumference of the larger pools.Unfortunately unless you have access to private dams etc.it seems Kilmore is no good for legal public fisheries.The practical option from what the local blokes that enjoy fishing say, to either head that little bit north up the hume to either the goulburn river it's self or the weir area in nagambie
