How do you fix a dish network tv that says press select to continue but when you do it doesnt work?

If you are unable to get the screen saver message off your TV, the remote either needs to be readdressed to the receiver or you need a new remote. Before I give you instructions on how to readdress the remote, let me have you try 2 things.

The first, if you don't have fresh batteries in the remote, I would replace them. Is this TV 1 or TV 2. If it is TV 2, you should check the antenna on the back of the receiver to make sure it is secure and in an upright position. Secondly, if it is TV 1, check for an obstructions for the IR sensors on the front of the receiver.

The following instructions allow you to readdress the remote to the receiver:

Remote:

1. Go to System Info screen.
2. Hold down the SAT button on the remote until all mode lights light up.
3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4. Press the pound (#) button.
5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful, the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

If this doesn't work, you may need to replace the remote.
