Competent persons are not necessary when scaffolds are being moved?

With the exception of the simplest scaffolding sn moving competent people are requires.

It depends in part on the type of scaffolding being considered:

1. Single scaffolding
2. Double scaffolding
3. Cantilever scaffolding
4. Suspended scaffolding
5. Trestle scaffolding
6. Steel scaffolding
7. Patented scaffolding

Of these types, trestle scaffolding is a movable wheeled system which is generally used in a building and can be simply pushed from location to location. The others are either built on the ground or hung from the building and require knowledge of the system to establish or move (competency).

This does not preclude the degree of knowledge required with trestle scaffolding as the mover or installed must be aware of the wheel locks, loading capacity and hazard identification (wires and pipes in the area etc.)
