To check the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) in a Jaguar X-Type, first ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is running. Locate the transmission dipstick, usually found near the back of the engine bay. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then remove it again to check the fluid level.
