Where did St. Thomas Aquinas grow up?

Thomas was born in the family castle in Lombardy near Naples, Italy, and educated by Benedictine monks at Monte Cassino, and at the University of Naples. He rarely spoke and had a rather large, imposing body. This prompted his classmates to give him the nickname of The Dumb Ox.
