Where are vents on a royal python snake?

There is only one vent - towards the end of the snake nearest the ground - perhaps 10% up from the tail end.

Looking underneath, there is a wide curved 'scale' which can be gently lifted up a little. Either side of the vent is a small 'claw' called a spur which is slightly larger in a male than female.
