The film and TV series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is not based on the "Avatar" books, or indeed on any book series. Through 2011, there were 3 seasons of the Animated TV Series (Book 1: Water, Book 2: Earth, Book 3: Fire) and a live-action feature film.
