How did the people in the old days celebrate Fourth of July?

They shot fireworks. Made in china the firework has been around for centuries. The Chinese in war even attached fireworks to arrows and shot thousands of them at their enemies, (they didn't explode they were just a way to shoot arrows without using a bow).
