You had short side bangs but you are growing them out and they are fairly long you just want some volume so how do you fake a cowlick?

If you want to make your side bangs seem shorter, without cutting them, you can blow dry the roots up. Angle the blow dryer up at the roots as you brush the bangs upward. This will require extra styling time, you will likely need a curling iron to redirect the bangs downward again without losing that volume at the roots.
