What kind of grease should you use on your front and rear bicycle loose ball bearings?

The kind of grease isn't that important. You can spend good money on high-end lithium bike specific grease if you want, but something used wheel bearing in cars or similar will do just fine. Some prefer to use grease for outboard engines, as it's a tad more resistant to water.
