A teapot is a vessel used to brew tea, loose leaf tea or tea bags are added to the warmed pot, then freshly boiled water is added and allowed to stand (steep or brew) for a few minutes, the teapot has a spout and a handle to allow the resulting 'tea' to be poured into tea cups.
