How do replace complete rack pinion on a 1999 Cadillac Seville?

I bought a rebuilt unit from Detriot Axle on eBay for 145.00 w/ 35.00 returned to you after returning core. I had a good shop replace it for me at a cost off 250.00. They say you almost need a vehicle lift to do the job, and they have one.
