The Persian Empire was established at 625 BCE. The state was ruled by the Achaemenid, the Seleucid - successors of Alexander the Great, the Parthian and the Sassanid dynasties. Confronted the Roman and Byzantine Empires until 651 AD when the state was occupied by the Arabs and the new religion of Islam. Persia played a major and significant role in the new religion and the world developments in the course of time.
