It would
appear that there have been no foreign born U.S. presidents. While
the Constitution considers foreign born peoples living in the U.S.
at the time of ratification to be eligible none were elected.
Just as a
minor addendum for those interested, in United States presidential
election of 1789 candidate Edward Telfair was foreign born. Also in
the United States presidential election of 1796 candidates James
IreDELL, and Samuel Johnston were both foreign born.
There may
be some others contenders as well but unfortunately there is
surprisingly little information immediately available about early
presidential candidates
