Thomas Esang Remengesau, Jr.was the President of Palau in 2003.

Tommy Remengesau was the 6th President of Palau from 2001 January 1 to 2009 January 15. Palau's constitution only allows a president to be re-elected consecutively once, so he could not yet stand election for president in 2008.

Johnson Torbiong became the 7th President of Palau, and stood for re-election against Remengesau in 2012. Remengesau won the 2012 election winning 58% to 42%, and become the 8th President of Palau on 2013 January 17th.

Tommy Remengesau's father, Thomas Remengesau Sr. was also a politician and was Vice President twice, as well as the acting President following the assassination of the first president and the suicide of the third president.
