How did the soldiers keep up morale in WW1?

Civilian Morale was not widely kept throughout the last year of the war, but at the beginning it was easy because war was seen as a good thing, and throughout the beginning of the war, Propaganda, making the enemy seem as a horrible beast, strengthen morale for the country, as well as recruitment ads
