transit time effect is generally seen in conventional microwave tubes.

Now, the general defination of transit time for a microwave tube is the time taken by the electron to travel from cathode to anode.t=d/v

d= distance between anode and cathode.

v= velocity of electron.

For low frequencies transit time is negligible,but for high frequencies it is comparable with the time period of signal.

In simple Words more the transit time..more will be the time taken by the device to give output for a given input.

This results in fall in gain.
